The Vroom Brooms' hose is the Slinky stretch. The Canplas Slinky hose is the latest stretch hose and has many new features including longer stretch, lower weight, better airflow and low noise. The most notable upgrade is the new larger diameter for better airflow and a longer stretch ratio. Just two and a half inches of the Slinky hose can stretch over one foot, about 25% longer than the previous generation of stretch hose. Advances in the vinyl formulations that make up the skin of the hose now allow a stretch ratio of an amazing 5:1 with 9 threads per inch and lower weight than previous models. The new Slinky stretch hose also improved the static tension for a perfect balance of recoil, extension and hanging tension. Slinky hoses store without sagging and with excellent compression and are easy to extend even with airflow pulling the hose. Gone is the "springy" feeling of previous models which increases the farther you stretch the hose. The new Slinky has a smooth feel when stretched and the tension remains constant at every length through it's range. The Slinky stretch hose also completely eliminates the whistle sounds that previous models would sometimes emit when stretched and cleaning with particular attachments.
The Vroom Broom's lightweight telescopic aluminum wand is manufactured in Italy by OMEC, a leading producer of exceptional quality vacuum extensions. Ultra lightweight at just 10 ounces, less than half the weight of two conventional steel wands, making the Vroom Broom great for zipping through the house while cleaning hard floors. The telescopic wand is a standard 32mm friction fit connection on both ends for quick connection of hose and tools. The metal surface is finished with a durable black baked enamel and the top of the wand is fitted with a nylon collar to protect the edge.
The telescopic wand adjusts fully from 22 inches compressed to 39 inches at full extension in one inch increments. The ratcheting mechanism is a positive ratchet design giving a firmer lock into the desired height allowing the tool to be resized on the fly for the user. The latching system is internally sealed from the dirt control tube for perfect air-flow with no catches and the wand extension action is very smooth and easy to operate. One of the best built multi-surface combination floor tools on the market today. The RD294 is adjustable and built for use on all textile and hard floor coverings. Using the RD294 combo nozzle will allow you to clean hard floor surfaces and soft floor surfaces of any type utilizing the high suction that is evenly applied to the floor by the unique design of the tool.
A large centered opening allows for maximum airflow through the nozzle directly to the surface. This suction is carried to the edges with deep "V" shaped grooves, ensuring constant airflow for any texture of flooring. There are also two independent liter pickers on the cleaning surface to help capture threads or lint that may be stuck in carpet or rugs.
Changing the RD294 from carpet cleaning to hard floors requires you to only move the toe operated switch, releasing the hard floor bristles. The polypropylene bristles are strong enough to clean any hard floor surface from tile, wood, linoleum or concrete. The bristles are packed tight to give the tool a firm base and are wrapped on the sides of the nozzle as well as the front and back. The bristles on the RD294 are scallop cut with slots on the brush surface to let dirt into the airpath of the vacuum, not pushed in front of the nozzle like a broom. The great design of the RD294 makes it easy to use with many labor saving features. At the heart of design for the RD294 is the large centered roller wheel. This soft texture wheel is important to both functions of the tool; making it easy to glide on hard floors - using its convex shape to track straight and keep the brush from "digging in". As you clean with the combo nozzle the wheel transfers your forward motion directly to the floor so you do not have to fight the resistance from the bottom plate to the surface. The RD294 also has a full swivel, triple action joint making this vacuum nozzle more flexible to ensure optimum contact with the floor from any angle. Finally the top mounted toe switch is large and textured with grips that make it easy to use and easy to change from hard floor to carpeted floors in just a couple of seconds.
Vroom Broom storage is simple, efficient and small enough to keep in a closet or pantry. Thanks to the collapsible wand you can even store the entire kit in a large drawer. Included with each kit is the PH400 single loop wall mount hose hanger. The large open loop hanger can be attached to most any wall surface with the appropriate fasteners or anchors and will keep the Vroom Broom easy to access and ready to clean. With the hose hanger mounted between 3 and 4 feet from the floor you can loop the Slinky hose over the hanger and stand up the wand with floor nozzle attached. When you need to clean fast just grab the hose and go. The Vroom Broom stretch hose kit is an excellent addition to any CV system, and can even be used as the primary cleaning set in mobile applications such as RV's and boats with CV Systems.

The wall end of the hose features a quality 1.5" CVS semi-flexible vinyl hose cuff with metal band to activate the central vacuum power unit when inserted into the wall valve. The Slinky hose fits all standard wall inlets both Universal and Direct Connection styles, as well as most utility and unit mounted inlets. The tool end of the stretch hose gives you a full 360° swivel grip to prevent kinks in the hose. A thumb operated air-relief lets you decrease suction for easy expansion with airflow restrictive tools such as crevice nozzles and turbo brushes. The tool tip is a standard friction locking 1.25" diameter that fits most all cleaning tools and wands, and connects perfectly with the included RW2050B Aluminum Telescopic Wand.
The RD294 not only looks beautiful but is also built strong. The outer housing is durable polypropylene with a textured surface that won't mar your walls or cabinets. The base plate is nickel plated steel with recessed screw heads that won't damage floors. The ruggedness of the design has been recognized by many vacuum manufacturers as well, including commercial vacuum makers who include the RD294 on their new cleaners.
